Santorini is undoubtedly one the most iconic places in the world for a wedding proposal. This is a fact that we already knew. What we didn’t know was the existence of an idyllic hideaway, located at Therasia island, which was the ideal setting for a secret proposal. Therasia is located a mile away from the romantic settlement of Oia. The island used to be part of Santorini before the volcanic eruption - that happened at around 1.500 B.C. - separated them.
Last summer, Audrey & Todd made a transatlantic journey from New York to Greece in order to experience the beauty of the Greek islands. Of course, Todd had already made his plans and he knew that the santorinian vibes would perfectly fit with his decision to propose to Audrey. The couple stayed in Perivolas Lifestyle Houses in Oia, one of the most sublime places to accommodate in Santorini. However, the staff of the hotel in consultation with Todd arranged the proposal to take place in Perivolas Hideaway. An incomparable private haven, accessible only by sea, built in a peacefully secluded cove on the island of Therasia. Words are not enough to describe the natural beauty of this place, which used to be a pumice mine back in 1850, before it was renovated and turned into a private villa, with the personal touch of a luxury boutique hotel.
Concerning our part, we arrived at Hideaway half an hour before Audrey & Todd, so we could inspect the place and find the perfect spots to hide for the secret proposal. We would make our presence known only by the time that Todd would propose to Audrey. Enjoy this one-of-a-kind story.
